Checkout UChicago is accessible to students, faculty, staff, and individuals with borrowing privileges from the University of Chicago Library. After downloading the application, users can easily activate it by scanning or entering their library barcode, which is located on the back of their UChicago ID card, followed by inputting their last name. The checkout process involves selecting items using the “+” button and completing the transaction by tapping the “Finish” button. For those opting to store their loans in a locker or faculty study within the library, no further steps are required. However, if patrons intend to leave the library with borrowed items, they must deactivate these materials at the dedicated Deactivation Station at the Regenstein circulation desk. Assistance is available from circulation staff at other campus libraries for deactivation needs.
